Fennel and ginger add a gentle touch to this classic chai. The addition of warm, sweet cinnamon makes it especially delicious. YOGI TEA Himalaya is a very old tea recipe from the meditative tradition of the Himalayas. Like any chai, Himalaya is a drink of harmonizing spices and milk*. *or a vegan milk variant. The subtle message of this tea is "balance and wide vision."
Ginger
Whether in Christmas cookies, curry mix or lemonade, bulbous ginger is one of the world's best-known spice plants. It has been cultivated in the tropical heat of eastern Asia for thousands of years and gives many of our YOGI TEA®s a fruity, pungent, aromatically spicy flavor.
Fennel
Fennel belongs to the Familieu of umbelliferae and has been popular around the Gl obus for thousands of years because of its intense aroma. It originates from the Mediterranean region and is reminiscent of anise due to its sweet and spicy taste.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon was one of the most expensive spices in the world and is said to have been used as a spice in China as early as 3,000 years BC. Cinnamon is obtained from the bark of the South Asian cinnamon tree, tastes aromatic-sweet and contains valuable essential oils.
Anise
This annual plant, whose sweet-tasting fruit has been revered by people for thousands of years, thrives in Asia and southeast of the Mediterranean. In the past, anise was sacrificed to the gods, but today it can be found in kitchens, Christmas bakeries, and as a delicious spice in many YOGI TEAs.
Coriander
In the Middle East and Asia, the slightly sweet-tasting coriander is used in almost every dish, probably because of its magnificent aroma, reminiscent of a spicy-savory blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and orange.
Licorice
Licorice, the defining ingredient of licorice, has been known since ancient times. It has about 50 times the sweetening power of sugar and tastes mildly sweet and bitter-tart.
Preparation
Pour 280 ml of boiling water over the tea bag and steep for about 7 minutes (longer for a stronger taste). Sweeten to taste and add milk (milk substitute).
