The First Flush is characterized by its fresh floral bouquet and at the same time has a certain fullness in the cup. This plantation, located in the Mirik region of Darjeeling, in the north of India, at the foot of the Hymalaya, offers us a wonderful spring harvest with subtle floral notes. In this ideal climate thrives this wonderful tea, considered the champagne of black teas. In 1866, the first 30 or so tea gardens were established, which were then further expanded. The success led to the founding of the Darjeeling Company as early as 1864, which was renamed the Darjeeling Consolidated Tea Company in 1896. Today, the Darjeeling tea industry employs about 70,000 workers, about a quarter of whom are employed as seasonal workers during the harvest period from March to November on the approximately 18,000 hectares of cultivated land.
